MassMEP Joins the Assembly East Conference Program
NORWALK, CT - The Massachusetts Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MassMEP), an industry leader in helping manufacturers adopt the latest Lean Manufacturing techniques, will present two sessions as part of the Assembly East 2003 Conference Program. The two sessions, both on Tuesday, June 10, will be; "Lean 101 Time Wise® Simulation," from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, and "5S - The Pillars of Lean," from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The Assembly East Conference, in conjunction with the Assembly East Exhibition, will take place June 10-11, 2003, at the Bayside Expo and Conference Center, Boston, MA. For 2003, Assembly East will co-locate with NEPCON East/Electro and together the three events will provide the Northeast's manufacturers with a single, convenient source for leading-edge manufacturing solutions at the board, component, and final product assembly levels.
"Lean 101 with Time Wise® Simulation," will explore why today's best practice is Lean Manufacturing, a management philosophy with a focus on waste elimination to reduce production lead-time, production costs and improve product quality. "The 5 Pillars of Lean" presentation will cover the 5-steps of a highly disciplined housekeeping technique, depicted by five Japanese words that begin with the letter "s". The session will provide the "how to" for a manufacturing firm to clean up the typically dirty and disorganized work area and insure the success of Lean Manufacturing on the shop floor. David Hess, a Project Manager and Certified Lean Implementer for MassMEP will present both sessions.
"With MassMEP, we are able to bring quality education on the latest Lean Manufacturing techniques to Northeast manufacturers," said Kelvin Marsden-Kish, Vice President of the Assembly/NEPCON family of events, produced by Reed Exhibitions.
In addition to the MassMEP session, the Assembly East 2003 Conference will feature state-of-the-art technical education developed specifically for manufacturing professionals by several other respected industry associations including the SME, EWI, and AWS.
