MASSMEP ROUNDTABLE SERIES: HOW FLEXCON BECAME FLEXIBLE WITH LEAN
Lean Champion FLEXcon in Spencer Share Their Lean Knowledge with Manufacturers at Event on December 11

FLEXcon, an ISO 9001-certified manufacturer of pressure-sensitive films and adhesives, is hosting the next Massachusetts Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MassMEP) Lean Roundtable Series on Tuesday, December 11 from 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at their Spencer facility. For 50 years, FLEXcon has offered the largest selection of standard off-the-shelf products and specialty, made-to-order products of its kind in the world.

The Lean Roundtable series is a chance for local manufacturers from a variety of industries to network and share knowledge on how to implement and sustain Lean manufacturing methods. In order to continue to produce value-added pressure-sensitive solutions to customers, FLEXcon implemented Lean techniques, and experienced a 5-day reduction in lead-time on their machines while increasing on-time deliveries and reducing waste. They also reported a reduction in transportation costs.

As part of the program, FLEXcon representatives will give a tour of their plant and showcase their Lean success. Participants are welcome to ask questions and provide feedback. Topics also to be discussed include the use of visual aids to help sustain Lean, inventory controls, and how to provide a culture that encourages employee empowerment with management support.
