MEDIA ADVISORY STATE LEADERS RECOGNIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF SPECIALIZED TRAINING PROGRAM
Mobile Training Unit Provides Manufacturing Training to Those Who Have Served
(M.O.S.T.® Mobile Training Unit will be available for tours)
In this time of economic uncertainty, a number of military veterans will receive specialized training as part of Mobile Outreach Skills Training (M.O.S.T. ®), a manufacturing training and placement program by the Massachusetts Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MassMEP). Following the completion of this program, Smith & Wesson will offer the graduates employment.
Details of why this training is so invaluable for the state, municipalities and out-of-work veterans will be discussed during a press conference at Smith & Wesson on Thursday, April 14 at 3:30 p.m.
WHAT:
An advanced Mobile Training Unit equipped with 3-D simulators and manufacturing machines is part of a unique Mobile Outreach Skills Training (M.O.S.T.®) program that can successfully place veterans, unemployed and underemployed workers into advanced manufacturing jobs after just two weeks of basic skills training.
This current program is funded in part by a U.S. Department of Labor $500,000 grant. Additional funds for this training may be contributed by state, local and private-sector funding.
